The DOG SHOW

Helen Thompson was born in Wales, her father taught her to sew and nurtured her passion and need to make and draw.

 

Holy Smoke pieces are created using modest and humble materials, layering scraps of textiles and papers to create form, using natural dyes, paints, clay and stitching for colour and texture,  creating an imperfect and sometimes fragile surface in an attempt to represent the unique spirit, character and fragility of dogs in their diverse forms and circumstances.

 

Helen  currently works form her studio in North Wales. She has exhibited both in the UK and internationally.
